Chuy Medrano, was one of 20 Latino leaders whose contributions were recognized with a Hispanicize Positive Impact Award.  “Chuy Medrano’s recognition as a Positive Impact Award winner was more than well deserved recognition of an exemplary humanitarian.  It also served to focus a bright light on the landscape industry, and its importance to US Hispanic communities across the country.  The star-studded gala event at Miami’s Hotel Intercontinental was attended by Hispanic leaders from across the US economy including many in the media, the arts, medicine, and education, all assembled to honor the winners and their stories.  No star shone brighter that night than our Chuy who accepted his award “on behalf of the more than half a million Latino landscapers that make the world more beautiful for all of us,” noted NHLA Executive Director Ralph Egües who attended the event.  Key regional news outlets across the country focused on Chuy’s contributions in their coverage of this year’s Hispanicize Awards including Fox News Latino, MSN Latino, La Prensa (San Antonio), USA Hispanic (Washington, DC), Vida Latina (San Diego), and Telemundo (Atlanta).
